Drive to a Point and Test

access prober close up Precision probing a test point during board development is a challenge with the complex boards with dense component designs. It is often difficult to recognize the component and to then hit the desired test point to take the measurement required.
Using an Automated Probing Station provides a two dimensional ability to test a point. The vision system can allow the test engineer to visually recognize the component and then select a measurement point which can be recorded if it is necessary to test again. Location information extracted from CAD data can also be used to drive the test probe to the desired location making the test accurate without risk to the board.
Automated testing platforms are well suited for integration into other methods of test application where guided probing with extreme accuracy in important to ensure proper probe placement on specific points. Accomplishing this type of interfacing manually can be difficult even for the most skilled engineer.
