The use of alternative test methods to test circuit cards is increasing
in the manufacturing marketplace.
These failures are often discovered in system integration and the failure is often the result of a marginal
component or one that has been stressed in the manufacturing process.
Returning circuit cards at this stage to the primary test equipment is neither productive nor cost effective.
However, using a precision prober that is capable of reaching the board in areas that the primary test equipment
was not designed to test integrated with equipment designed to recognize failures of this type can cost
effectively diagnose the failure component.
