Prototype Verifictaion
An important process in the development cycle of a new circuit is
the verification process. The
verification stage provides a disciplined approach to bringing the board online where measurements
are taken to establish and document a baseline for the circuit. This process will confirm that the
assembled circuit has a specific measurement profile consistent with the original design which should
then confirm the ability of the circuit to function.
An important challenge in the verification process is the ability to test a new board predictably
without misprobing a test point. The economics of a custom fixture make it difficult to justify them
for this process. This condition is further aggravated by the difficulty in connecting general
purpose measurement equipment to a board.
